At the invitation of Rector Dr. Danilo Zavrtanik, Žiga Stanič composed the anthem of the University of Nova Gorica in 2000 (then still the Polytechnic of Nova Gorica). Conceived as a ceremonial sound logo for the institution, the work is used on official occasions and is set to the composer’s own text. Arranged for various performing forces, the piece has been performed by several prominent Slovenian ensembles, including the Slovene Octet, the Ave Choir, the RTV Slovenia Symphony Orchestra, and the Slovenian Chamber Choir, among others, on ceremonial occasions of the university.
