About

Alea iacta est, for piano and orchestra, was conceived as a stylistically open composition that emerged outside the composer’s usual aesthetic framework. Its musical language moves freely between different idioms, including elements reminiscent of narrative, chill-out, and ambient music, interspersed with more dissonant or atonal passages. The stylistic versatility of the work reflects the idea suggested by the title—“the die is cast”—allowing the musical flow to unfold through a sequence of contrasting sonic situations determined by an almost playful compositional logic.

Premiere

2017, Žiga Stanič, orchestra ad hoc.
