Novelette No. 2 for two pianos is a virtuosic piano piece. It reflects many impressionistic fragments and, at times, makes us consider the piano as a kind of percussion instrument. The piece we will hear at tonight’s concert is preceded by Novelette No. 1 for two pianos, composed ten years earlier—the two works are connected in terms of pianistic approach.
