Ready, Steady, Go! is a virtuosic composition for solo marimba, characterized by continuous rapid motion. Its sonic image—shaped at times through the preparation of the instrument—portrays a race against time: an ant runs, a human runs, thoughts rush—all heading toward the finish line. The composition was written at the initiative of the Society of Slovene Composers for the premiere performance by Simon Klavžar.
